I love winter. I love cool winter days coupled with the nice, often too warm sunshine. It’s like winter and I were meant to be together. I love the fashion and I love that I don’t have to see someone’s ass hanging out of their too short shorts or someone’s boobs bursting out of their too low shirt or even worse thongs (not those kinds of thongs, haha) on every second person on the street. Winter does however bring more people wearing tights as pants but I can forgive that in winter.
I usually don’t even need an electric blanket in winter and I didn’t own any thermal wear at all until this winter. It has been the coldest winter I have ever experienced… I don’t know what happened! All of a sudden it turned super chilly and I needed to wear multiple layers of clothing just to be indoors. The most I’ve had on –and I’m really not joking here– are five tops, two pants and three socks. I can’t believe I’m going to say this but I miss the warmer weather! I want spring to come!

I looked at my recent liked posts on Bloglovin’ and I saw that there was a common trend. Light airy tops in blush and pink, worn with optional bare legs. I think blush/pink works really well with brown and especially well with tanned skin. So those are my on my checklist for summer. Pink, blush, nice tan.
It’s of course freezing as I type this so I’m just going to try and enjoy winter because when summer comes I’ll probably be wishing for snow. Funny how the grass never fails to be greener on the other side.

Edit:

Guess I spoke a little too soon because look what Topshop is putting out for their A/W collection! I really want the one in the middle but I suppose £42 approximately $72.50 AUD is a little bit hefty.

Hello everyoneeeeeeee! I’ve been a little bit MIA because life has finally caught up to me. Wish I had some flattering photos to post up but I have diddly-squat (This is possibly the first and last time I will use that phrase, haha). Let’s just say late nights plus broad daylight does not equal a nice face to look at. Oh wait I found one passable one which is currently my Facebook photo:

My camera has been acting up i.e. making things too light/too dark so I don’t have too many photos. I think I’ve dropped it one too many times. The next three photos are from a friend’s cameras and sum up basically everything I’ve done in the last week or so. Karaoke — screaming out the explicit words in every song we can find, rapping with no ability and finally shots of soju which I think is probably the most disgusting drink ever.

And over-eating!

Hello 1 metre pizza! I promise all this was shared between six people.
I also went to see West Side Story last Tuesday night. I don’t think I have much to say about it other than the singing, dancing and acting was great and that Josh Piterman as Tony is such a babe. It was well worth the wait considering my sister and I bought the tickets back in December.
And that’s it! Woooo! I’m getting tired from looking back these photos are thinking about how much I ate, drank and laughed. I’m so going to miss these ladies when uni starts again in August or whenever it is. Boo~

I’m constantly inspired by fashion, I don’t think there’s a day where I don’t see something fashion related and think, “Wow, that’s amazing.” If I have to narrow it down, the first thing that comes to my mind and probably everyone else’s mind is the late Alexander McQueen’s Plato’s Atlantis collection. I think the reason why people like it so much is because he took something as ugly sounding as sea reptiles and what looks like exoskeletons of bugs and turned it into something so beautiful and so unique that you can’t help but love it even if it’s something you would never wear in a million years. It takes such a genius to create something like that, to even have the ability to conjure up something like that. Plato’s Atlantis deserves every praise and accolade because a collection like that only comes around every blue moon. Up to this point, that has been my most inspiring fashion moment.
I try to always be proud of my outfit because as they say, you don’t look good if you don’t feel good. I think maybe my proudest moment is being stopped on the street and being asked where I got something. I mean what a compliment right? Someone thinks something looks so great on you they want it for themselves! I usually get asked about my shoes the most ;)

This one is the hardest to answer! It’s very, very hard to narrow it down because I think in every era there’s an aspect, a fashion no-no that makes me not want to go back to it, haha. The first era I would return to would be the 60′s I think, when YSL first created his Le Smoking tuxedo. It’s still so stylish today and hey, to be one of the first women to wear a tuxedo in a sexy way, who wouldn’t want that? And I think the second (I may take this back one day) is the early 90′s. I was waaaay to young to know what fashion was but I so want to be Cher from Clueless in my little matching ensembles and my “totally important designer” dress by Alaia driving in my bright yellow Jeep. Haaaaa, if only!
*I was invited by the nice people over at 2threads to be one of twenty bloggers to participate in a little Q&A sponsored by Storm London for a chance to win a lovely watch! I thought the questions were pretty interesting and I feel pretty stoked to be able to participate. Big props to Gracie over at 2threads who’s super nice and contacted me about it.

Ah, I wanted to show you guys my new Cue jacket that I got heavily discounted a couple weeks ago. It’s a really lovely navy and the strong shoulders make me look like I’m not slouching– since I’m slouching 99% of the time, but the lighting was so bad it’s made everything a bit pink. It’s my first item from Cue and I like how it’s made in Australia. There’s not too many ‘chain’ store clothes that are like that these days. Would you call Cue chain store? The sales assistants were also super nice (I was in the Myer Pitt St one) and I chatted to two of them for about 15 minutes about all sorts of things, it was like we’d been friends for ages.
I’ve been watching Disney movies these past few days. Channel Seven Two was playing Aladdin on Thursday. In year eight I did an Aladdin musical so the movie brought back so many embarassing memories of my friends and I as thirteen year olds dancing to One Jump Ahead. Then on Friday I went to see Toy Story 3 which I really enjoyed. I loved Toy Story when I was little so this was the perfect ending to it. Spoiler alert: I started crying when they were about to head into a fire and they all held hands. Too emotional for my own good I think, haha. My sister also got Snow White on sale today and now I can’t stop singing Heigh Ho. Also, there’s a really interesting fact that I didn’t know about Disney Pixar movies that my sister told me but in every movie there’s also a little clue about what movie will be coming out next! Look here! I hadn’t realised at all. Makes me love Disney even more I think.
P.S. Thank you to the lovely people who visit my blog everyday even if you don’t comment and especially those who email me and say such nice things! I couldn’t be more grateful and humbled by them ♥.

I’m always complaining so I thought I’d just keep it to myself this time around even though I have lots to complain about i.e. my stupid laptop kicking it. Anyway, on a happier note, I have blogs to recommend today!

One of my favourite fashion blogs at the moment belongs to Hanneli Mustaparta. I like the way she takes photos and that light that they always have. It’s very similar to Garance’s and the Sart’s –that little bit of warmth and clarity. Really pretty! I also like the fact that she’s riding her bike in the Acne Atacomas, it’s so NYC. Check out her blog if you haven’t heard of it before.
Speaking of Atacomas, my sister bought some the other day and I’m very happy because 1. I can fit into them, 2. I did not spend a cent HEHE :D Don’t you just love sisters?!

Jessica Hart, she is one of my favourite Australian models because she just seems so real compared to say Miranda Kerr who I think is beautiful but really boring. I really like her style and it’s something I could never pull off because I’m not leggy so Converse and Docs just don’t work on me. She also takes photos and I love looking at her photos of the NYC skyline.
Do you have any blogs/websites to recommend me? It doesn’t have to be fashion based. I have so much free time lately that sometimes I find myself just napping because I’m so bored… yeaaaah, guess who needs a job?
