Storm London Q&A*

The time you felt most inspired by fashion – your most inspiring fashion moment

I’m constantly inspired by fashion, I don’t think there’s a day where I don’t see something fashion related and think, “Wow, that’s amazing.” If I have to narrow it down, the first thing that comes to my mind and probably everyone else’s mind is the late Alexander McQueen’s Plato’s Atlantis collection. I think the reason why people like it so much is because he took something as ugly sounding as sea reptiles and what looks like exoskeletons of bugs and turned it into something so beautiful and so unique that you can’t help but love it even if it’s something you would never wear in a million years. It takes such a genius to create something like that, to even have the ability to conjure up something like that. Plato’s Atlantis deserves every praise and accolade because a collection like that only comes around every blue moon. Up to this point, that has been my most inspiring fashion moment.

The time you were proudest of your outfit or style

I try to always be proud of my outfit because as they say, you don’t look good if you don’t feel good. I think maybe my proudest moment is being stopped on the street and being asked where I got something. I mean what a compliment right? Someone thinks something looks so great on you they want it for themselves! I usually get asked about my shoes the most ;)

The Time in Fashion you would most like to return to – e.g 60’s style, 70’s style…

This one is the hardest to answer! It’s very, very hard to narrow it down because I think in every era there’s an aspect, a fashion no-no that makes me not want to go back to it, haha. The first era I would return to would be the 60′s I think, when YSL first created his Le Smoking tuxedo. It’s still so stylish today and hey, to be one of the first women to wear a tuxedo in a sexy way, who wouldn’t want that? And I think the second (I may take this back one day) is the early 90′s. I was waaaay to young to know what fashion was but I so want to be Cher from Clueless in my little matching ensembles and my “totally important designer” dress by Alaia driving in my bright yellow Jeep. Haaaaa, if only!

*I was invited by the nice people over at 2threads to be one of twenty bloggers to participate in a little Q&A sponsored by Storm London for a chance to win a lovely watch! I thought the questions were pretty interesting and I feel pretty stoked to be able to participate. Big props to Gracie over at 2threads who’s super nice and contacted me about it.

McQueen is definitely one of the most inspiring designers. He’s someone that definitely makes fashion an eccentric type of art.

It really does feel good when someone compliments your clothing~

And I think I would want to return to the 1920′s and wear Chanel and be extremely feminine.

    • Leanne says:

Yes! 1920′s-1950′s are decades I would want to return to too because of the femininity. I was watching I think a 1930′s or 49′s film and the dresses the women were wearing were incredible!

it would not hurt to have Cher’s closet either… with the computer system that does matching for you in the morning ;D
