No one mourns the wicked

Wicked is no doubt one of the highlights of my life. It was amazing. That is the only word I can find for it at the moment. Utterly and completely amazing. When we first walked into Capitol Theatre we just couldn’t believe how elaborate the set was and everytime the stage lit up entirely I nearly died. Everything was so beautiful especially the costumes which my friend said reminded her of Lady Gaga.

Unfortunately, I was looking forward to seeing Amanda Harrison as Elphaba which of course did not happen as she left the production officially as of February 2nd. My Elphaba for the night was Jemma Rix who was brilliant! As soon as she stepped on stage the crowd started a round of applause for her. After Defying Gravity my friends and I were completely dumbfounded and in awe of her talent.

I have to mention that I love Lucy Durack! I really do, she is just so cute as Glinda! Rob Mills was extremely goodlooking and of course talented but you know, the goodlooking just really makes it enjoyable to watch on stage, haha. And as if I’d forget my favourite BERT NEWTON! I seriously love the ol’ guy… his singing is not as great as the Joel Grey from the Broadway production but Bert is Bert! How can you not love him? The crowd also gave him a round of applause when he first stepped on stage.

I was so great that I think I might see it again! If you’re in Sydney and you’re umming and ahhing about seeing it just go do it. You definitely will not regret it. After it ended all I could hear were praises for it. Just be sure to get your green daiquiri after the intermission because running to the toilet and battling the line is insane, I almost died after the bell stopped ringing to signal the end of the intermission!

I’m posting a lot, I know but I have a backlog of entries waiting to be published!
