Happy 21st Brandy!

February 5, 2010 | Filed Under La vie

I blocked out Noeleene’s face because I still would like to be her friend. ALSO! I am the tallest in this family, that picture lies!

On Tuesday night it was my friend Brandy’s 21st! I had such a great time and getting to be in a room filled with all of Brandy’s closest friends was really amazing. I loved all the speeches everyone made. Only thing I didn’t like?! Being the youngest person in the room but looking their age! HAHA, what a confidence booster!

As for clothing choices, I was wearing my new Vero Moda dress (SEQUINS!!), a Subtitled by GP jacket; I love, love, love this jacket! The next time I post pictures up of me I will most likely be wearing it again, haha. I have no shot of the shoes because I have no full body shot but I was wearing these shoes, I think I got them from Kasui/Kagui? I can never tell if it’s a S or G, haha.

Happy Birthday again Brandy!

I was nominted by the lovely Une Belle Fille for the Kreative Blogger Award. I read her blog from time to time and never knew she knew mine existed so yay! In all honesty, I have no clue what this means but I think by requirement I have to reveal Seven Things About Me. So here goes.

1. I have the worst temper known to man. It’s true, I’m such a brat to my family I’m so surprised they haven’t kicked me out yet! I get angry over really trivial things like if my room gets cleaned up by my mum I will explode. I think I have every right to be angry if she throws away my possessions without asking me AKA my Chloe Sevingy for Opening Ceremony shoe box. Yes, SHE THREW IT AWAY. She threw all my shoe boxes away in fact, including my Vivienne Westwood x Melissa one. It’s so damn petty but now all my children are homeless and have to sleep on the floor :(

2. I am always mistaken for an only child. I don’t know why but everyone I meet generally assumes that I have no siblings but really I have three! I think because I don’t mention them all too often but I really don’t feel the need to speak about them all the time.

3. For those who don’t know I’m both Vietnamese and Chinese. I can’t really speak either of the languages and funnily enough I can speak better English and French. I feel kind of bad for not being able to speak them because I feel like I’m losing my heritage and my culture. When I have children I am definitely putting them into schools to learn them! One day they’ll thank me.

4. As much as I love my course in uni I honestly don’t know what job I’m going to get in the end. I always get asked what I want to be and even now I don’t know. Is it silly for me not to care how I’m making money just as long as I have it to do what makes me happy?

5. I am really chicken to wax my legs. Really! Often I put on the wax and it takes about 10 minutes to coax myself to pull it off, haha and by then the wax is cold and practically useless.

6. I didn’t like The Catcher In The Rye… can someone who really loves it tell me why you do? It’s my sister’s favourite book and she always just says, “How can you not like it?!”

7. My friend Joselyn and I are extremely meldodramatic which is why we get along so well. During our HSC days we used to come up with make believe scenarios so we wouldn’t have to take exams and hand in assignments. Almost all of them ended with us dying hahahaaa!

You have no idea how hard it was coming up with all these!

Also thank you to the person who added a page up for me on Wikifashion! I feel so grateful to you, I edited country of origin and my name though because I’m actually not from France. that doesn’t stop me wanting to be though :P

Sometimes I have a temper too when it comes to my family but it happens when they don’t listen to me or hurt my feelings and then it just builds over time, and then I explode!~ LOLO BOMBBB!!!…anyway~
and as for school…i know I’m in architecture school…but I still wonder…do I want to work as one? will I end up doing architecture…I have no idea what will happen in the end~ Just know that you aren’t alone~~~

  2. Lola says:

Love this post! I too have the worst temper, this is slowly changing over time :)

  3. Becca says:

For some reason I thought you were an only child too :0 but that’s crazy, THREE siblings! I get annoyed enough by ONE haha…

and the French thing kind of almost relatively counts toward the Vietnamese side because it’s kind of like a jumbled French version of Chinese if that makes any sense :P

  4. Noeleene says:

Oh my gosh LOOOOOOL. You know me too well. How very kind of you LeeLee. This made me love you even more ahahaha

  5. Lady says:

i’m such a brat to my family too.. i need to improve D:

if i have kids, i’m definitely making them learn mandarin. or at least talk to them in chinese as they’re growing up.

i don’t like cather in the rye either!

  8. mars says:

The heels you wore are so pretty! pity you didn’t take a full body shot.

Do you plan to get better in either Vietnamese or Mandarin in the future? Or are you just going to focus on French?

    • Leanne says:

I’m just planning to focus on French for the moment. Just taking things as they come. If I have time learning to speak Mandarin will be the next step because it’s a bit late for the reading/writing part, haha.

  9. Jenny says:

Awe people made speeches D:?! That’s so nice and proper!!

People mistake you for an only child?? That’s so unusual :O

  10. winn says:

  11. jayjayne says:

Great pics and lovely outfit Leanne! :D

Shhh – I also didn’t like Catcher in the Rye – however, I absolutely loved To Kill A Mockingbird – we’ll keep it out little secret ;P I also feel the same about my heritage/language combo as I come from an area of Malaysia which speaks Foo Chow (dialect of Chinese) which is dying out. It’s a shame that I haven’t learnt how to speak it – kinda makes me sad.
