Bored out of my mind

June 25, 2010 | Filed Under La mode

I’m always complaining so I thought I’d just keep it to myself this time around even though I have lots to complain about i.e. my stupid laptop kicking it. Anyway, on a happier note, I have blogs to recommend today!

One of my favourite fashion blogs at the moment belongs to Hanneli Mustaparta. I like the way she takes photos and that light that they always have. It’s very similar to Garance’s and the Sart’s –that little bit of warmth and clarity. Really pretty! I also like the fact that she’s riding her bike in the Acne Atacomas, it’s so NYC. Check out her blog if you haven’t heard of it before.

Speaking of Atacomas, my sister bought some the other day and I’m very happy because 1. I can fit into them, 2. I did not spend a cent HEHE :D Don’t you just love sisters?!

Jessica Hart, she is one of my favourite Australian models because she just seems so real compared to say Miranda Kerr who I think is beautiful but really boring. I really like her style and it’s something I could never pull off because I’m not leggy so Converse and Docs just don’t work on me. She also takes photos and I love looking at her photos of the NYC skyline.

Do you have any blogs/websites to recommend me? It doesn’t have to be fashion based. I have so much free time lately that sometimes I find myself just napping because I’m so bored… yeaaaah, guess who needs a job?

Vivid, soccer, tennis.

I went to Vivid Sydney on Friday night with my friend Noeleene! My pictures are really low-fi and noisy though because my sister took the good camera on the day which is a bit disappointing because the lights were really pretty. You can read her entry about it, there isn’t much more I can say about it other than it was really fun and REALLY cold, haha.

I haven’t been doing much since uni ended, besides watching BBC’s latest Jane Austen adaptation, Emma and watching soccer. Blaaaaah I could really just ramble on and on about the soccer and the terrible refereeing but I will refrain. I’m just really disappointed in the fact that Australia hasn’t gotten a proper chance to play well. Kewell getting sent off was totally unjust, referees must be very hard headed to be able to believe in every single action they make. This World Cup has just been a disappointment to me and it’s one that I’ve least enjoyed watching so far and I’ve been a fan of the World Cup ever since I can remember. I guess the vuvuzelas, the crazy time difference and the fact that all my favourite players from the last 8 years are getting a bit on in their years to be selected/have retired. I miss Totti, Ronaldhino (LOL gotta watch this Pepsi ad), Ronaldo, Zizouuuuuu! Ahhh, anyway, look at me, I said I wouldn’t ramble and I did it anyway, heh.

Wimbeldon starts tonight and I’m sososososososo excited because I actually get to watch this year (crazy time difference again) but Channel 9 sucks and they always show Hewitt’s matches. I’m not the least bit interested in his matches, I find him arrogant and boring to watch.

Ah, okay I will leave it at all. No one wants to read boring sports stuff. Promise next entry I will have something to talk about!

Strawberry Fields Forever

June 15, 2010 | Filed Under La vie

Officially the girliest spot in my room because of my new UO jewellery dish!

Exams are over and I feel like I’m in a world where I am taking LSD*… HAHA that sentence was so weird. I guess I mean I’m in this state of euphoria where I have nothing to do for the next 3 and a half months. I’m jobless, almost penniless but I am happy and this is all that matters I think.

I’m also looking for places to volunteer at; anything is good as long as I feel like I’m making a difference or contributing to something. A couple weeks back I emailed to volunterr at NSW fire services or something like that but it was like mailing out newsletters and I really don’t want to do that. I was also looking into Vinnies or something similar but last time I looked there had to be vacancies. I really feel like volunteering since I haven’t done something that hasn’t benefited me in a while but it seems pretty hard finding volunteer work that doesn’t involve mundane activities.

Also, I joined Chictopia – seems more fun than Lookbook (just sayin’!). I’m having a good ol’ time being vain. Join me and let’s be vain together in pretty/questionable outfits!

Will be catching up on everyone’s blogs over the next few days, I feel like I’ve been out of the loop!

*Listening to too much Beatles lately, I seem to have Strawberry Fields stuck in my head 24/7.

*____* I AM IN LOVE~ (ALSO! Yessss, that’s a real lens flare! Haha, I’m so amazed at my stupid digicam for being able to do these things)

Out of everything I’ve ever bought (with my iPhone coming a very, very close second) this has to be my favourite. I have never been so happy to get it. I haven’t used film cameras since high school and I barely know anything about photography so hopefully I get the hang of it soon.

I’ve taken a couple photos already so I’m really anxious to see the result. The first three, I definitely know are basically duds LOL but it’s okay! If anyone has tips I would really appreciate it~ Or if anyone knows a really good 120mm film developer in Sydney, that’d be great. I’m just using the 35mm back for now but I’d really like to give 120mm a go!

And yes, that’s it really… I have finals coming up. Urghhhhhhhh. I finish on June 15th! Wooo. Thank me later, bitch (go to 2:20). Haha… yes, I had to just throw that in.
