You’ve got me walking on the moon

February 22, 2010 | Filed Under La vie

Uni’s started up for me again… I don’t know how the past three months have flown by so fast! I’ve been thinking a lot about my degree and in which direction I want it to take me in. I’m doing a BBA but I still don’t know what I want to do after I finish. It’s such a general degree that I could basically do anything in business. Anyway, talking about the the future is too scary for me! As I’ve said many times during my French classes, “Je ne veux pas penser à l’avenir parce que I like to take it as it comes”, hahaha… I don’t know if there’s an expression for that in French. Maybe, “quoi qu’il advienne mai”??

Today was a scorcher in Sydney (the shots above were taken a several days ago when it was nice and not crazy hot) and now I am going to lie in the aircon, watch the Nanny and not think about uni because I dont go back until Wednesday, lovely!

PS Sorry for the boring post… it’s just a filler so I’m not posting even more boring “Places I’ve been, Things I’ve seen” entries.

Edit: Forgot to mention why I put photos up! 1. I got my hair cut a couple of weeks ago :( It’s a lot shorter than I wanted and I am sorely missing the 3 inches that were cut off. 2. I can’t get enough of these shoes!

No one mourns the wicked

February 18, 2010 | Filed Under Les Loisirs

Wicked is no doubt one of the highlights of my life. It was amazing. That is the only word I can find for it at the moment. Utterly and completely amazing. When we first walked into Capitol Theatre we just couldn’t believe how elaborate the set was and everytime the stage lit up entirely I nearly died. Everything was so beautiful especially the costumes which my friend said reminded her of Lady Gaga.

Unfortunately, I was looking forward to seeing Amanda Harrison as Elphaba which of course did not happen as she left the production officially as of February 2nd. My Elphaba for the night was Jemma Rix who was brilliant! As soon as she stepped on stage the crowd started a round of applause for her. After Defying Gravity my friends and I were completely dumbfounded and in awe of her talent.

I have to mention that I love Lucy Durack! I really do, she is just so cute as Glinda! Rob Mills was extremely goodlooking and of course talented but you know, the goodlooking just really makes it enjoyable to watch on stage, haha. And as if I’d forget my favourite BERT NEWTON! I seriously love the ol’ guy… his singing is not as great as the Joel Grey from the Broadway production but Bert is Bert! How can you not love him? The crowd also gave him a round of applause when he first stepped on stage.

I was so great that I think I might see it again! If you’re in Sydney and you’re umming and ahhing about seeing it just go do it. You definitely will not regret it. After it ended all I could hear were praises for it. Just be sure to get your green daiquiri after the intermission because running to the toilet and battling the line is insane, I almost died after the bell stopped ringing to signal the end of the intermission!

I’m posting a lot, I know but I have a backlog of entries waiting to be published!

Wiki-wiki-what? Wikifashion!

February 17, 2010 | Filed Under En général

I know my title is lameeeee but Wikifashion is definitely not!

I just wanted to plug Wikifashion because Madeline co-founder and owner of Lola PR has been kind enough to support my blog (thank you so much!) If you’d like your own page all you have to do is add it yourself. It’s really that simple. If you feel like you have nothing to contribute head over to Wikifashion anyway, it’s such a great website for everything and anything fashion related.

Since this has come about I was really thinking about the direction of my blog. Elephanteaux did not start off as a fashion blog or style blog and I don’t think I would consider it one now. I don’t think this will change any time soon and as much as I love being included in the “fashion” category of blogs I just want to clarfiy for those looking for only fashion related posts that, that probably won’t happen. I just really wanted to straighten that out incase people are coming here and thinking, “Geez… how is this a fashion blog? Where’s her outfits?” It’s more of a whatever blog. Whatever I feel like I post. So right now maybe it might be fashion based but who’s to say that in the next six months it might change to something completely different. I’m not looking for fame as a blogger, I’m just looking for people to enjoy what I post whether it be two people or twenty. That being said I’m really happy to be today’s featured article, haha!

All the crazy shit

Sportsgirl Jenny Wedges♥ Excuse the bits of calico, my sister took over the spare room!

I have a whole bunch of stuff to write but I’m feeling so run down both from fatigue and sickness. It’s going to be an action packed week for me once again so I don’t know if I’ll have time to update but I just wanted to drop a quick note.

1. Had crazy fun ‘intensive’ French oral lessons every day last week or two hours. My tutor was Lucie a French girl from Montpellier. I feel like I’m finally getting somewhere with my spoken French.

2. Got totally drenched (partly the reason why I’m sick) when I went to my friend’s 19th birthday at Tank for R’n'B Super Club night. Very messy night even though I didn’t have a single drop of alcohol, boohoo to being the designated driver 24/7.

3. Got drenched yet again when I went to Good Vibrations yesterday (full coverage to come because I wrote an entry before I got sick).

4. Will be going to Wicked on Wednesday night! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

5. Happy Valentines Day and Chinese New Year!

Until then lovelies!

Happy 21st Brandy!

February 5, 2010 | Filed Under La vie

I blocked out Noeleene’s face because I still would like to be her friend. ALSO! I am the tallest in this family, that picture lies!

On Tuesday night it was my friend Brandy’s 21st! I had such a great time and getting to be in a room filled with all of Brandy’s closest friends was really amazing. I loved all the speeches everyone made. Only thing I didn’t like?! Being the youngest person in the room but looking their age! HAHA, what a confidence booster!

As for clothing choices, I was wearing my new Vero Moda dress (SEQUINS!!), a Subtitled by GP jacket; I love, love, love this jacket! The next time I post pictures up of me I will most likely be wearing it again, haha. I have no shot of the shoes because I have no full body shot but I was wearing these shoes, I think I got them from Kasui/Kagui? I can never tell if it’s a S or G, haha.

Happy Birthday again Brandy!

I was nominted by the lovely Une Belle Fille for the Kreative Blogger Award. I read her blog from time to time and never knew she knew mine existed so yay! In all honesty, I have no clue what this means but I think by requirement I have to reveal Seven Things About Me. So here goes. Read more
