I did this back in 2007 but got reminded of it by Emma, so I decided to redo it too :D Yay, I really can’t wait for 2010 to begin~
1. Where were you when 2009 began?
At my friend Sarah’s place drinking her mum’s heavily ‘spiked’ orange juice, getting bitten by mosquitoes, being hit on by her drunk gay friend (LOL?!) and playing Wii!
2. What did you do in 2009 that you’d never done before?
2009 was my first year at uni, my first visit to Zumbo, making macarons! The list is endless. :)
3. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don’t remember having any resolutions but for years and years my main goal was to get fit and I sort of did that this year, with joining the gym and all.

4. Go to any concerts this year?
Yes! I went to Beyonce’s concert which was AAAAMAZING! I really expected no less from her, she was great in every single way.
5. Will you be looking for a new job in 2009?
Maybe… it depends. I really want to work at Country Road so we’ll see how lucky I get, haha.
6. Did you drink a lot of alcohol in 2009?
Well, it was my first year of being able to drink whenever I wanted. I don’t like it too much to be honest. I like being sober.
7. Did you go on any vacations? If so, where?
Nope… I was supposed to go to France though.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Accomplishing my goal of getting a high enough GPA to transfer degrees! It’s been a few years since I’ve been proud of myself academically.
9. If you could go back in time to any moment of 2009 and change something, what would it be?
No, I try not to regret and I try not to remember the bad things.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Yes! Chicken pox :(
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Too many things, too, too, too many things. Probably my favourite out of everything are my Opening Ceremony x CS wedges and Ray-Bans.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Hmm, no one in particular that I need to single out. I didn’t really have much emotional issues this year so I haven’t needed a shoulder to cry on.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Too many to list. Not depressed but more appalled. I could name one person in particular but that’s very mean. She doesn’t know who she is because she’s that deluded.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Hands down clothes. I have never spent so much money in one year on myself. Time to slow down me thinks.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
There wasn’t much excitement this year. A lot of plans fell through.
16. What song will always remind you of 2009?
Single Ladies. What an insane video clip.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you happier or sadder?
Um, I think I feel the same. If you asked me this question in Feb/March I would’ve definitely sad happier though.
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Saving my money LOL.
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Definitely the same as Emma – less procrastination.
20. How did you spend Christmas?
Reading Wicked! Hahaha, it was the best Christmas ever.
22. Did you fall in love in 2009?
Noooo. Where are all the eligible bachelors in Sydney?!
23. What was the biggest change for you in 2009?
Definitely education wise, also being able to drive was a big change too. I can’t imagine catching public transport everyday now. Sorry Planet, but I’m just too damn selfish.
24. What were your favorite TV programmes?
The Office, Glee. I really like White Collar at the moment, Big Band Theory… The Apprentice Australia was pretty good surprisingly!
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
I am born with a lot of hatred in my heart!
26. What was the best book you read?
Austen is forever my literary god. This year I bought all her books.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Hmm, probably Glee or deciding to like Gaga, haha.
28. What did you want and get?
I got everything I wanted this year materially, that is. Kind of sad because now I am broke, so no more spending for me! OH also, Topshop came to Australia = big, big dream.
29. What did you want and not get?
Hmm, new car that I was planning to buy but decided against, my holiday… and probably meeting a lot of new people I thought I would at uni but that doesn’t amke me upset. I’m really happy with the friends I have now and I don’t see it changing any time soon.
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
None – I’m not a movie junkie so I can’t pinpoint one.
31.What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Turned 19 (Why?!) and celebrated it at Coogee Beach with a good ol’ fashioned Aussie BBQ.
32.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Um… better grades in second semester I guess but as I said I have no qualms about this year.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?
I don’t know if it’s changed all too much. I’m more conscious about what I buy but I’m more inclined to spend big than to spend little. As in I would rather pay for quality and design than settle for something relatively cheap that I only like a little bit. I’d like to think my choices in clothes have been a little ediger but if you see me at uni I’m usually in tights and a long t-shirt so I guess it balances out.
34. What kept you sane?
Friends, coffee, shopping, sweets.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I get obsessed easily and also forget easily so I can’t remember. Very restless and fickle-minded I say.
36. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
Not really suming my year but it’s a nice song.
“Smile though your heart is aching, smile even though it’s breaking. When there are clouds in the sky, you’ll get by if you smile through your pain and sorrow. Smile and maybe tomorrow, you’ll see the sun come shining through for you.”
Charlie Chaplin – Smile
37. Who did you miss?
Not really anyone in particular, but I missed high school.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
Hmm, I’ve met a few really good uni friends which is great :)
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009.
I probably say this every year but study. There is no way you will ace that test EVER if you don’t. It’s just a fluke if you do and don’t give me that BS about being ‘naturally smart’.
40. What are your plans for 2010?
Whatever happens, happens.

Guess who didn’t go to the Boxing Day sales?! That’s right, me the complusive shopper who will almost buy anything at any price, haha. Instead my sister and I went to Ikea the day after. Not many people know this about me, but I love houseware/kitchen appliances etc. etc. as much as I love clothes and shoes. I thought Ikea wouldn’t be crazy because it’s not clothes… guess I was wrong because it felt like half of Sydney was in there. It was insane, we waited in line for 40 minutes but I’m happy with what we got which totaled to $24! (Noticeboard, Christmas decorations & tinsle, spatula, ice cube trays!!).

Today we were planning on heading into the City for some proper retail shopping but it’s been raining in Sydney for the past few days so we decided against it and went to our local shopping centre. Where I bought a handmixer solely for the purpose of making macarons; I can’t wait! Yum, yum :) We also went to Cotton On Body where I bought a stripy top & travel pillow for $5 and a really cute floral bra for $10.

Tomorrow I’m planning to take it easy on the monetary front and go to the gym with my friend and maybe see Avatar. Has anyone seen it? I’m trying not to be so biased about it but the animation doesn’t look that great to me. I guess I was expecting a lot more considering they spent something crazy like $300 or $500 million on it. Here’s yay to no more spending!

Can you guess which one I am circa ’95-’96?! Just incase you can’t, I’m the one committing a terrible fashion faux pas with my black school shoes that were two sizes for me and short bowlcut. My family is spending Christmas quietly, yay! I much prefer it to masses of people everywhere. Simple, small, easygoing that’s my kind of shindig.
I am 100% getting into Wicked. I’m reading the book at the moment and I really don’t know how I feel about it at the moment but I know I’ll love the musical. Anyway, I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry ‘Witchmas’ –it’s already Christmas here! I hope you spend it with loved ones and that Santa brings you some nifty gifties!

I’m an anal person. Especially when it comes to things I buy. I always look for tiny faults that no one but me notices. Why do I bring this up? Because today I got my RUSSH magazine in the mail. Normally, the postman puts it on my door step so it doesn’t get damaged but for some reason this time he shoved it right into my tiny mailbox that’s made of METAL thus ripping the front cover and stratching the spine. For a person like me who is so OCD about these things I got so annoyed. I’m still very annoyed! I hope this is only a temporary occurance because of the postage strikes and that the lovely person who usually treats my mail with care comes back soon. They should give that nice man a raise and fire the other jerk.

Anyway on a more pleasanter note, I recieved the nicest Christmas gifts from Leanne yesterday in the mail (Which came in perfect condition, thank you nice postman). I looooooove this cover of i-D and my sister and I already devoured (well, mainly yours truly) most of the Koko Black chocolate! Thank you so much Leanne!
Sorry about the ugly bedsheets. My mum thought it’d be nice if she got my sister and I matching bed linen with, get this, BABY ANGELS all over them! I hate them so much, grr!

And finally some lovely things I’ve bought myself in the past few weeks! The Colonial Madness wedges I ordered from Urban Outfitters finally came and a new blazer I bought from General Pants. I know you can’t really see (but you can see a bit of my piggie PJ shorts from my aunt :P) but it’s a tame version of a leopard print jacket. I don’t really know how I feel about it at the moment because I don’t usually buy such bold prints – I mainly dress in neutral block colours but something just really made me want to buy it!

After a bout of sickness I was finally able to go out this week! Yay. So my friend Noeleene and I along with our mutual friend Petra visited Incu Presents Topshop. It was a little disappointing… I was really expecting a lot more stock. I went in to see this (click British site if you can’t see it) dress but they didn’t even have a single one left. Also saw some Opening Ceremony x Where the Wild Things Are stuff! Loved that stuff more than the Topshop to be honest. I was quiet sad to be leaving empty handed — the SA there was really nice though.
Speaking of Where the Wild Things Are, I finally watched it today. I really enjoyed it, I found it funny and cried a little; but I’m sensitive anyway. My friends actually feel asleep haha, but I loved it! You should definitely see it if you’re a fan, it doesn’t disappoint.

Also, I mentioned this on Twitter but when I was watching the movie I noticed that Alexander looked like Seth Green and mentioned it to my friend. We were in hysterics for about ten minutes :P
And finally the best news all week is that I got tickets to see WICKED in February. It’s a little longer than I’d like to wait but no one was up for going on New Years Eve; they were such close seats too! Only 3 rows from the stage :( I’m counting down the days, I can’t wait! And I know I’m going to get some slack from some Aussies but I can’t wait to see Millsy and Bert Newton HAHA. I’m being totally serious! Millsy is hot! And to celebrate, Rachel from Glee singing Defying Gravity.
Edit: Just got my sister and I tickets to see West Side Story in July! I think I’m more excited about this than Wicked!!
