I’m constantly inspired by fashion, I don’t think there’s a day where I don’t see something fashion related and think, “Wow, that’s amazing.” If I have to narrow it down, the first thing that comes to my mind and probably everyone else’s mind is the late Alexander McQueen’s Plato’s Atlantis collection. I think the reason why people like it so much is because he took something as ugly sounding as sea reptiles and what looks like exoskeletons of bugs and turned it into something so beautiful and so unique that you can’t help but love it even if it’s something you would never wear in a million years. It takes such a genius to create something like that, to even have the ability to conjure up something like that. Plato’s Atlantis deserves every praise and accolade because a collection like that only comes around every blue moon. Up to this point, that has been my most inspiring fashion moment.
I try to always be proud of my outfit because as they say, you don’t look good if you don’t feel good. I think maybe my proudest moment is being stopped on the street and being asked where I got something. I mean what a compliment right? Someone thinks something looks so great on you they want it for themselves! I usually get asked about my shoes the most ;)

This one is the hardest to answer! It’s very, very hard to narrow it down because I think in every era there’s an aspect, a fashion no-no that makes me not want to go back to it, haha. The first era I would return to would be the 60′s I think, when YSL first created his Le Smoking tuxedo. It’s still so stylish today and hey, to be one of the first women to wear a tuxedo in a sexy way, who wouldn’t want that? And I think the second (I may take this back one day) is the early 90′s. I was waaaay to young to know what fashion was but I so want to be Cher from Clueless in my little matching ensembles and my “totally important designer” dress by Alaia driving in my bright yellow Jeep. Haaaaa, if only!
*I was invited by the nice people over at 2threads to be one of twenty bloggers to participate in a little Q&A sponsored by Storm London for a chance to win a lovely watch! I thought the questions were pretty interesting and I feel pretty stoked to be able to participate. Big props to Gracie over at 2threads who’s super nice and contacted me about it.

Ah, I wanted to show you guys my new Cue jacket that I got heavily discounted a couple weeks ago. It’s a really lovely navy and the strong shoulders make me look like I’m not slouching– since I’m slouching 99% of the time, but the lighting was so bad it’s made everything a bit pink. It’s my first item from Cue and I like how it’s made in Australia. There’s not too many ‘chain’ store clothes that are like that these days. Would you call Cue chain store? The sales assistants were also super nice (I was in the Myer Pitt St one) and I chatted to two of them for about 15 minutes about all sorts of things, it was like we’d been friends for ages.
I’ve been watching Disney movies these past few days. Channel Seven Two was playing Aladdin on Thursday. In year eight I did an Aladdin musical so the movie brought back so many embarassing memories of my friends and I as thirteen year olds dancing to One Jump Ahead. Then on Friday I went to see Toy Story 3 which I really enjoyed. I loved Toy Story when I was little so this was the perfect ending to it. Spoiler alert: I started crying when they were about to head into a fire and they all held hands. Too emotional for my own good I think, haha. My sister also got Snow White on sale today and now I can’t stop singing Heigh Ho. Also, there’s a really interesting fact that I didn’t know about Disney Pixar movies that my sister told me but in every movie there’s also a little clue about what movie will be coming out next! Look here! I hadn’t realised at all. Makes me love Disney even more I think.
P.S. Thank you to the lovely people who visit my blog everyday even if you don’t comment and especially those who email me and say such nice things! I couldn’t be more grateful and humbled by them ♥.

I went to Vivid Sydney on Friday night with my friend Noeleene! My pictures are really low-fi and noisy though because my sister took the good camera on the day which is a bit disappointing because the lights were really pretty. You can read her entry about it, there isn’t much more I can say about it other than it was really fun and REALLY cold, haha.
I haven’t been doing much since uni ended, besides watching BBC’s latest Jane Austen adaptation, Emma and watching soccer. Blaaaaah I could really just ramble on and on about the soccer and the terrible refereeing but I will refrain. I’m just really disappointed in the fact that Australia hasn’t gotten a proper chance to play well. Kewell getting sent off was totally unjust, referees must be very hard headed to be able to believe in every single action they make. This World Cup has just been a disappointment to me and it’s one that I’ve least enjoyed watching so far and I’ve been a fan of the World Cup ever since I can remember. I guess the vuvuzelas, the crazy time difference and the fact that all my favourite players from the last 8 years are getting a bit on in their years to be selected/have retired. I miss Totti, Ronaldhino (LOL gotta watch this Pepsi ad), Ronaldo, Zizouuuuuu! Ahhh, anyway, look at me, I said I wouldn’t ramble and I did it anyway, heh.
Wimbeldon starts tonight and I’m sososososososo excited because I actually get to watch this year (crazy time difference again) but Channel 9 sucks and they always show Hewitt’s matches. I’m not the least bit interested in his matches, I find him arrogant and boring to watch.
Ah, okay I will leave it at all. No one wants to read boring sports stuff. Promise next entry I will have something to talk about!

I am going to miss your deliciousness Creme Egg!
I spent the day with my sister pigging out on chocolate and trying out Sealy and Sleepmaker beds. If you’re looking for a new bed go and try the Sleepmaker bed with the back support gel. Oh my god, it is like sleeping on the fluffiest cloud in the kingdom.
And now I shall go watch boring Saturday movies and wonder why Topshop lied to me about my order being here no later than April the 1st and yet proceeded to dispatch it out to me 2 days before the promised arrival date, boohoo.
P.S. Sorry to all the IE users out there for the slightly skewed entry position. This theme was such a biatch to work with and I have no patience for churning out one of my own that’s widget ready.

I know my title is lameeeee but Wikifashion is definitely not!
I just wanted to plug Wikifashion because Madeline co-founder and owner of Lola PR has been kind enough to support my blog (thank you so much!) If you’d like your own page all you have to do is add it yourself. It’s really that simple. If you feel like you have nothing to contribute head over to Wikifashion anyway, it’s such a great website for everything and anything fashion related.

Since this has come about I was really thinking about the direction of my blog. Elephanteaux did not start off as a fashion blog or style blog and I don’t think I would consider it one now. I don’t think this will change any time soon and as much as I love being included in the “fashion” category of blogs I just want to clarfiy for those looking for only fashion related posts that, that probably won’t happen. I just really wanted to straighten that out incase people are coming here and thinking, “Geez… how is this a fashion blog? Where’s her outfits?” It’s more of a whatever blog. Whatever I feel like I post. So right now maybe it might be fashion based but who’s to say that in the next six months it might change to something completely different. I’m not looking for fame as a blogger, I’m just looking for people to enjoy what I post whether it be two people or twenty. That being said I’m really happy to be today’s featured article, haha!
